Fishing Eco Park to come up in Chetpet

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa announced the construction of ‘Sports Fishing cum Eco Park’ in Chetpet . The park will be built on what is now the Chetpet Lake. The cost is estimated to be Rs. 42 crores.
The Park would include a multi storey parking lot. It will also have a fishing canteen that would offer a variety of sea food. Rare ornamental trees are expected to be planted in the premises that will offer activities such as a children’s play area, fishing, open air theatres, boating and adventure water sports.
The lake currently belongs to the State’s Fisheries Department.
