The residents belonging to the city of Chennai use metro train services more these days. Most commuters have one common goal that is to reach their destinations fastly. There are few who indulge in other things in these metro stations in Chennai. The latest news is some commuters are looting things from the metro stations. This was later confirmed by the authorities of CMRL.

The various things commuters have stolen from the Chennai metro stations are toilet papers, nozzles of fire extinguishers, copper wires and dust bins etc. It was mentioned by an official belonging to CMRL that initially commuters stole toilet paper rolls and soap dispensers then they stole the nozzles in the fire extinguishers. Recently, dustbins were also stolen by some commuters. This issue was not present at just one particular metro station. Finally, he concluded how security has been stepped up at the metro stations to stop this issue.

Another official of CMRL expressed his shock and spoke about how few commuters have stolen copper wires also. It is well known that copper wires are costly and those who have stolen copper wires would sell it to get money immediately. Nozzles of fire extinguishers are also costly just like the copper wires and could fetch good money. He was little confused about those who have stolen these things and said whether they are passengers or their own staff members was unclear. He then spoke about how a police complaint could not be given on items like toiletries, copper wires, dustbins etc.

Finally he explained about how in case of missing fire extinguishers nozzles police complaint was given. It was mainly due to the fact that the companies that supply these refuse to sell just the nozzles and was demanding the reason for that. It is revealed that employees have been put on alert to prevent such incidents in future.
