Prospects medium rain in the districts of Chennai and Kanchipuram

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of medium rain in some districts including Chennai, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, and Villupuram due to the phenomenon of convective rain.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre officials shared in this regard :
‘Due to the phenomenon of convective rain, there are prospects of mild to medium rain in the next 24 hours in the Tamil Nadu state districts of Cuddalore, Villupuram, Pudhukkottai, Salem, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Nagapattinam, and the Karaikkal region in Puducherry state.

In a similar trend, there are prospects of mild rain in the districts of Coimbatore, Nilgiri, Theni, Dindigul, Thirunelveli, and Virudhunagar.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, it will remain generally cloudy. The maximum temperature recorded will be 38 Degrees Celsius and the minimum, 30 Degrees Celsius.

The southwest monsoon rainy season in Kerala is yet to intensify. Only after this southwest monsoon rainy season intensifies in Kerala, there are prospects for the heat intensity to come down in the state of Tamil Nadu.

During the last 24 hours,  a rainfall of 4 cm has been recorded in the Koodalur Bazaar in Nilgiri District. 3 cm rainfall was recorded in Ooty-Solaiyaru and Melbhavani. 2cm rainfall was recorded in Naduvattam, Devala, and Valparai. Kunda recorded a rainfall of 1 cm.’
