Court says no to more time to remove TASMAC shops

The request to extend time allotted to remove TASMAC stores from highways has been declined by the Madras High Court. The Court had ordered all TASMAC stores to remove their outlets that are situated along National and State highways by 31st March.
TASMAC Executive Director Savuntaiah approached the Court saying that 335 stores have been relocated and requested another 6 months to search for alternate locations for the rest. However, the Court refused to give more time.
