The task of checking of certificates for B E/B Tech Courses extended

The Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Higher Education has announced that the task of the document/certificates verification of the applicants for B. E./B. Tech. Courses are being extended by 1 more day.

As per the original schedule, the task of checking the certificates/documents were to be completed by today (Wednesday, 12th June), approving the appeal made by the students for an extension, this has been extended by 1 more day.

K. P. Anbazhagan, the State Minister for Higher education has released an announcement on this.

The online counselling for admission to the engineering courses are organised by the Directorate of Technical Education. 1.33 Lakhs candidates have applied. The task of checking/verification of certificates/documents of the candidates commenced on Friday ( 8th June). As per the original schedule, this task is to have been completed by today (Wednesday, 12th June). However, out of the 74000 applicants invited for counselling, only 59500 applicants have participated. The balance 14500 applicants are yet to participate. With this situation, there are possibilities of an increase in the vacant seats for engineering admissions.

In this scenario, giving due considerations to the plight of the students who could not participate in the document/certificate verification, the completion of this task has been extended by 1 more day, until 13th June (Thursday).

The notification released by the Tamil Nadu State Government Minister for Higher Education, Anbazhagan, in this regard:

‘The task of checking/verification of the certificates/documents furnished by the applicants for engineering courses had been scheduled from 7th June to 12th June facilitating the counselling of applicants to be organised by the Directorate of Technical Education and has been in progress in 46 counselling centres throughout Tamil Nadu.

In this situation, the applicants had come with the demand for an extension of the above task by 1 more day in some of the counselling assistance centres. This appeal has been taken and accordingly, the task of checking/verification of certificates/documents is extended by 1 more day until Thursday, 13th June.

The students are advised to avail of this opportunity.

It has been informed that so far, 6712 applicants had sought help through the telephone numbers above and 23724 applicants have sought clarifications through e-mail.
