In the coming days, the days would be hotter and the nights would be warmer. This is due to the fact that the meteorological department has not predicted any rain.

Indian Meteorological Department or IMD has forecasted that in Chennai city for the next 2 days of time the sky would be partly cloudy and the maximum as well as minimum temperatures would be around 36 degree Celsius and 29 degree Celsius respectively. It has been predicted by Skymet weather that the maximum temperature would hover around 39 degree Celsius for the next 3 days and on Saturday the temperature would show 40 degree Celsius.

On Tuesday, the day was not that hot when compared to Monday. The important point is the temperature crossed 36 degree Celsius for a brief time between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm. The temperature touched 37 degree Celsius at 11:30 am on Monday.

It must be noted that on 9th May the maximum temperature touched as high as 41.3 degree Celsius and it started to decrease. On 13th of May, the temperature reached 36.6 degree Celsius and it was mainly due to the sea breeze. When compared to the core places in Chennai city, the suburban places remained hotter and on Tuesday Meenambakkam recorded 37.1 degree Celsius. The shocking news is northern suburbs like Tiruttani were very hot as the temperature touched 43 degrees.

It was later pointed out by the weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John that Chennai city would get rains only when westerlies become strong. It is now revealed that the nights have started to become warmer though there is breeze closer to the shores. On 11th May, the minimum temperature was 26 degree Celsius and it climbed to 28.8 degree Celsius on Tuesday. It is now said that the interior parts on TN would get rains as winds from west are meeting the winds from east.
