TN Education Department decides to take action on 709 unapproved schools

Reliable sourced from the School Education department of the state government informed that action will be taken on 709 unapproved schools function in in Tamil Nadu.
As per the Right To Education Act, the District Primary Education Officers have to ensure that no school functions without approval. A circular regarding this has been sent by the Director of School Education, V C Parameswara Murugan to all the District Primary Education Officers.
Accordingly, the District Primary Education Officers have to personal visit the schools under their domain every government-aided school. District Education Officers have to personally visit all the government-aided and self-financed high schools and higher secondary schools under their domain, and the CBSE, ICS syllabus linked schools and must demand the approval order and obtain the same.
Subsequently, they have to prepare a list of schools which failed to provide Approval Order and submitted to the Chief Education Officer. The District Primary Education Officer and the District Education Officers also need to state at the end of the above list that there are no other unapproved schools in their respective domains.
All the above procedures must be completed before Wednesday (today, 24th April). The newspapers will furnish the list of the unapproved schools as per the details furnished in order for public awareness.
By the time the next Academic Year (2019-20) commences, the Chief Education Officers will have to confirm that there are no unapproved schools functioning in their domains.
In case of unapproved schools, a display notice has to be put up at the entrance of the school identifying it as unapproved school.
Further, all the District Education Officers must initiate action on the unapproved schools and a report with all details of the schools must be sent before 29th May.

In this situation it has been found that there are 709 unapproved private schools functioning in Tamil Nadu. It is gathered that the admissions to these schools will be banned from this academic year.
The unapproved schools will have to explain their status and the schools failing to provide explanation will be marked as unapproved schools and the list will be published in the daily newspapers.
