It is now said that the barometer that was used to record the temperature recorded the first hottest day in this 2019. The point to be noted is Tiruttani recorded a temperature of 40.1 degree Celsius on Tuesday.

There were also few places in TN where the maximum temperatures touched almost 40 degree Celsius and these places were Trichy, Madurai and Salem. It must be taken into account that in the Chennai city the temperature that was recorded during the day touched 36.8 degree Celsius in Meenambakkam and this was 4 degrees above the normal temperature. Likewise the temperature that was recorded in Nungambakkam in the day was 35 degree Celsius and that was 3 degrees above the normal. As per the officials belonging to meteorological department it is clear that it was early warnings issued to certain parts in the state of TN and it was just temporary only.

Director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Mr. Puviarasan, expressed his views about the rise in the temperatures and said when the maximum temperature reaches 4.5 degree Celsius above average in a region then heat wave warnings would be issued by them. He highlighted that dry westerly wind was the reason for this increase in the temperatures in Tamil Nadu. As the moist easterly wind hasn’t penetrated in the region, the interior places also experienced scorching heat.

The point is warning about the heat wave was issued mainly for those people who spend most of the time outside in the day. Mr. Puviarasan then pointed out that unlike Delhi where the maximum temperatures lasts for longer time, it was different in TN and the maximum temperature would dip in hour or 2 hours of time. It is important to mention here that the heat wave warning was mainly for the interior districts like Vellore, Namakkal and Salem. From Friday onwards the temperatures would decrease.
