Estimation indicates a normal start to the summer season

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has estimated that the impact of summer this year will be as usual and normal.

The winter chilly season has gradually come to a close all over the country. However, in some states including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Assam, mild chillness and rain prevail.

It is estimated that the summer season will start spreading throughout the country and intensify.

As per the estimations of the Weather Bureau, the summer starts every year by 1st March and concludes by end of May. Subsequently, the country’s main source of water, the southwest monsoon season starts. Accordingly, the summer season has commenced yesterday (Friday, 1st March).

IMD has released a long-term estimate regarding this summer season. As per this, the intensity of heat recorded in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra, and Telangana, will be as usual as normally recorded every year and there will not be any major change.

However, IMD has estimated that the intensity of heat will be up by 1 Degree in some states including Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra.

IMD has also mentioned in the states including Delhi, Telangana, Andhra, and Tamil Nadu, wherever there is a traditional summer season heat waves, the same intensity of heat will prevail in these places.

In all the states, the intensity of heat will be up by 1 Degree Celsius as compared to the average registered. As for the climate over the ocean/sea zones, IMD has estimated that it may take a few months’ more time the advent of the El Nino phenomenon which is conducive to the rainy season.
