Streamlining of GST domains - the reduction of prices for 23 items from today (1st January)

Subsequent to the decision to streamline the GST domains of various items, the prices of 23 items including Television, Computer Monitors, cinema tickets, etc., are being reduced with effect from today (Tuesday, 1st January).
During the last GST Council meeting conducted in Delhi on 22nd December, the streamlining of GST domains for several items was taken up. Subsequently, the GST domain and the prices of 23 items and some services have been reduced – including cinema ticket fare, computer monitor, television, power banks, etc.
Further, it was decided in the GST Council meeting that the items under the GST domain of 28% will include only items such as luxury items, items which are harmful to health, cement, large size televisions, air-conditioners, and dishwashers. The tax was exempted for the treated vegetables.
For items like a digital camera, video camera recorder, gearbox, used tyres, etc., the GST domain was brought down from 28% to 18%.
For the cinema tickets, for the ticket prices up to Rs. 100, GST was brought down from 18% to 12%. For cinema tickets priced above Rs. 100, GST domain was brought down from 28% to 18%.

The central government has released this announcement as a New Year Gift to the public! As per the above, the prices of items mention in the lists will be down effective from today – Tuesday, 1st January.
