Prospects of rain from today (21st Dec to 24th Dec)

It has been announced that there are prospects of rain from today (Friday, 21st December) to 24th December due to the depression zone. There are prospects of heavy rains in the south Tamil Nadu districts.
However, the northeast monsoon season has utterly failed in Tamil Nadu so far. Rains are being expected every day but ending with utter disappointment!
In this situation, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of mild rain in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu from today (21st) until 24th.
A low-pressure format has been prevailing over the central and southwest Bay of Bengal. When this drifts towards the northwest, there are prospects of heavy rain in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains may persist in the southern coastal districts today and tomorrow.
Further, there are prospects of mild rain from 21st to 24th December in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There may be mild rain in a few places.
