Now pay property registration fee through net-banking, debit/credit cards

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanisamy inaugurated a new facility to facilitate payments for property registrations by online or through debit/credit cards.
A notification on this regard by the state government mentions that introducing computerized data/record management facilities in the Department of Property Registration will definitely improve the quality of service while giving way to more transparency in the process. With this consideration, a new facility has been introduced for the applicants of property registration to access internet from As an alternative, the transactions can be done wherever they are – including their residences – apply online for property registration and as well make the payment online and receive the QR code (Quick Registration) and download the encumbrance certificate duly signed by the registrar has been introduced. This was inaugurated by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, E. Palanisamy.
Further, by scanning the QR code displayed on the screen, it is possible to access and read the copy of the certificate through the server. With this, anyone case ascertains the authenticity of the documents.
As these certificates are given as per the latest rules and regulations, they are legally approved. With this latest facility, the need for the applicants/public to visit the office of the Registrar to get the encumbrance certificate and other related documents.
Further, in this new arrangement, payments for registration can be made through 11 banks. As an alternative method, the transactions can be done by all the banks as coordinated by the State Bank of India through all approved modes of transactions.
With this new integrated system, the arrangements have been made to make payments for registration through net banking service, debit cards, credit cards, and UPI payment linking through 58 banks.
Once the registration is completed, the bond paper will be scanned in the office of the registrar. The CM also inaugurated the facility to send the document to the concerned applicant. With this facility, in case there is undue delay in getting the original documents are returned to the owner, the scanned and mailed copies can be used as substitutes for any necessities.
Moreover, the software associated with different stages for registration and customs registration has been modified and improved and linked to the main operating software Star 2.0.
New software has been designed for Partnership Management registration. Apart from this, a new software has also been designed for the issue of Hindu marriage registration, Tamil Nadu Marriage registration Act, private marriage registration Act, Christian Marriage Registration Act, birth and death certificates. This is also linked to the main software Star 2.0. This facility was also inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
