Tnpsc Group-2 preliminary exam on tomorrow (11th Nov)

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group-2 Preliminary Examinations are scheduled to be conducted tomorrow - Sunday, 11th November. There are 1199 vacancies in the Group-2 category and over 6 lakhs candidates are set to write this examination.

The Group-2 preliminary test to be conducted tomorrow covers the vacancies for City administration Commissioner, Registrar, Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Staff Analyst, The Department of Prison Good Conduct Officer, Junior Job Opportunity Officer, Assistant Internal Censor Analyst, Handloom Analyst, Senior Analyst for cooperative assc=ociations, and Revenue Assistant. As mentioned above, there are 1199 vacancies in the above Group-2 category.

The written examination – Group-2 Preliminary, is set to be conducted tomorrow. Organised by TNPSC, 626503 candidates are participating throughout the state in 400 examination centres. 354136 candidates are men and 272357 candidates are women. 10 candidates belong to the 3rd gender.

There are 3 papers in the Group-2 Preliminary test – General Knowledge, General Tamil, and General English.

The candidates can choose either General Tamil or General English. The General Knowledge paper is common. 480694 candidates have chosen General Tamil and 145809 candidates have chosen General English.

The Group-2 preliminary test will commence at 10.00 AM and concludes at 13.00 hours for a duration of 3 hours. Candidates have to answer 200 objective questions. Each objective question is for 1.5 marks making up for a total of 300 marks.

The candidates who are successful in this preliminary test will qualify to write the next stage of the Group-2 Main Test. The candidates for the Main test will be chosen on the basis of 10 candidates per vacancy.

The total vacancies are 1199 as per above, So, around 12000 candidates are likely to be selected to write the Group-2 Main Examination.

As the candidates who have the same cut-off marks are also selected, there may be an increase in the number of candidates qualifying for the Main test. The Group-2 Main Examination will carry questions which require detailed answers.
