It is now said that some of the adults have this habit of talking during sleeping but is most commonly found in the kids. Usually it appears that these persons are talking to themselves but sometimes these persons might also be conversing with others also during their sleep. This sleep taking could take place every night or once in a while. This talking during sleeping is also known as somniloquy. This sleep talking takes place during delta wave non rapid eye movement sleep or NREM sleep stages. This sleep taking could occur by itself or as a feature of another sleep disorder also. Few factors that could cause talking during sleeping are insomnia, illness, depression, medications etc. The interesting point to note is the person who sleep talks would not know about this at all.

There are few ways by which this talking during sleeping could be avoided. They are

By having a consistent sleep schedule:

This is one of the important ways to overcome this sleep taking in us. It is very important that we must go to bed and awake up at a certain fixed time every day. By this sleeping for 8 hours is achieved. It is said that when we sleep less then sleep taking would be more.

By avoiding excess intake of caffeine:

Our sleep gets affected by consumption of alcohol or caffeinated drinks etc. People talk during their sleep more when they consume excess caffeine. Reducing caffeine intake is very important.

Managing the stress in us:

Everybody has got stress these days and this stress could be due to various reasons. This stressful life could also be the cause for sleep taking in us. It is good for us if we take a break in between our work. By this our mood gets refreshed and stress gets reduced. For relaxation deep breathing exercises would be superb. Stress could be reduced by listening to music or by reading books, playing with kids etc.

By avoiding watching horror films or certain TV programmes:
