Awesome rains in the Ghats, Dams and Surrounding area and heavy rains and high winds are expected today too in Valparai, Nilgiris, Theni, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari

As expected the westerlies winds increased and pounded the ghat belt in Tamil Nadu with almost all places ghat areas in Valparai, Nilgiris, Theni, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari getting filled up. By next week we can see all the dams filled up in Valparai, Nilgiris, Theni, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari.

Mettur inflow jumps and over 1.28 lakh cusecs of water is being released from Karnataka dams.

Close to 1.29 lakh cusecs is being released by Karnataka from the two Dams to Tamil Nadu`s Mettur.
1. KRS Dam - Inflow - 65,777 Cusecs and Outflow - 82,838 Cusecs
2. Kabini Dam - Inflow - 45,100 Cusecs and Outflow - 46,000 Cusecs
3. Hemavathi Dam - Inflow - 30,319 Cusecs and Outflow - 31,900 Cusecs
4. Harangi Dam - Inflow - 13,029 Cusecs and Outflow - 14,785Cusecs
5. Mettur inflow at 60120 cusecs storage at 50306 mcft against full capacity of 93470 mcft. The outflow is maintained at 1000 cuses. Mettur dam is expected to be full in less than a week considering more inflows of 90000 - 1.20 lakhs cusecs in the coming days
