We often think that others are responsible for our happiness and blame them when we are not happy. The truth is the hormones present in us are responsible for our happiness.  It is said that the feelings we experience are because of chemical reactions taking place in us.

These below mentioned hormones are responsible for our happiness in us.

Endorphin:

Produced by our central nervous system and by the pituitary gland, endorphins are opioid neuro peptide that helps us in fighting the body pain. When there is a deficiency of endorphin we feel headaches, dizziness etc. By exercising the endorphins would be released.

Serotonin:

Also known as 5 hydroxytryptamine, serotonin is monoamine neurotransmitters.  It must be noted that serotonin acts as an antidepressant and is responsible for our joys. It regulates our mood, lowers depression and finally makes us feel happy. By exercising, eating foods rich in carbohydrates and tryptophan heavy foods, by exposing us to sunlight this serotonin would be released. One of the main divisions of ANS or autonomous nervous system is the enteric nervous system and this serotonin is present in the enteric nervous system.

Dopamine:

It is worthy to note that this dopamine play many roles in both brain as well in the body. It is 3, 4- dihydroxyphenethylamine and it makes us feel alert mentally. When dopamine is not present then we suffer from lack of concentration, bad moods etc. When foods that are rich in proteins are consumed by us then dopamine gets released.

Oxytoxin:

Produced by the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus, oxytoxin is a peptide hormone and neuropeptide.  It is revealed that the social bonding plus sexual reproduction are carried out by this oxytoxin hormone in us. In females this hormone is released during childs birth and also during breast feeding.

Ghrelin:

This is also one hormone that plays a vital role in our happiness. Reduction in stress is done by this hormone. When we get hungry this hormone is released. It is important that we must eat as per our body needs and not fill our stomach fully and by this good Ghrelin levels would be maintained in us.
