Prospects of rain with thunder in the northern coastal districts

The Chennai Meteorological centre has informed that due to the phenomenon of thermal convection, there are prospects of rain with thunder in the northern coastal districts of Tamil Nadu.
The officials from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that there are prospects of rain with thunder in the next 2 days in the northern coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the thermal convection.
The Chennai Metro City will remain generally cloudy. Thunder clouds may form during the evening or night.
Winds with high humidity content are blowing towards Tamil Nadu from the Arabian Sea. Due to this, it has been raining heavily in the 5 districts of Coimbatore, Nilgiri, Nellai, Theni and Dindigul. There are prospects that this heavy rain may persist for the next few days.
