My name is Nigin Binish. I`m a human powered adventurer with social messages. Recently, I completed a solo and unsupported walking expedition across India without any money. Main focus of this walking expedition is to spread awareness on food wastage. Before this expedition, I travelled solo on a bicycle over 3,200 km in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry to encourage book reading habit and to conserve water.

My journey started on foot from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on August 24, 2017 and completed in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir on February 21, 2018.  I walked 3,352 km in this journey and had taken me through 11 states (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir) and 5 union territories (Pondicherry, Dadra Nagar and Haveli, Daman-Diu, Delhi, Chandigarh).

I deliberately done this walkathon without money! I never had money to spend for myself at the same time, I didn`t accept money from people. For water and food I completely depending on strangers and in the night I pitch my tent to sleep. Traveling without money pushed me to stay in different places and there are times that I didn`t get sufficient food to free from hunger.

During these 6 months of hiking, I lived out of my backpack with one pair of clothes, sleeping tent, sleeping bag, first aid kit and some essential gears which weigh around 25 Kg.

On my expedition I had encountered extremes of weather, experienced remoteness, physical exhaustion, different cultures and food style for the 182 days.

In this journey, I had the opportunity to interacted with thousands of school and college students all over our country to teach them about food wastage, to inspire people by capturing lessons from the adventures and numerous acts of kindness which I experienced from this pollution free expedition.
