No New Year Celebrations in Tirumala

On behalf of the TTD (Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Board), it has been informed that there will be no New Year Celebrations In Tirumala/Tirupathi.
TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal explained regarding this that it is a tradition in Tirupathi to perform the various festivals only as per the Agamas. The Telugu New Year Day will be celebrated as usual.
It is a usual trend for a large number of devotees to visit Tirupathi and have the Darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara on the occasion of the English New Year as well. However, this year, The Department of Andhra Religious Endowment has ordered that no decorations and special arrangements should be made on the occasion of the English New Year. So, there will be no celebrations in Tirupathi on the occasion of the English New year.
However, the decorations made for the occasion of the sacred Vaikunta Ekadasi will be retained for a week for the devotees.
