24-hours toll-free telephone numbers have been allotted to facilitate the public regarding the latest information/details about the viral diseases.
Information is gathered that the dengue virus is spreading fast and wide throughout the state.
So, in order to pass on the news about anyone affected with viral fever or get the medical consultation regarding the viral diseases, 3 toll-free telephone numbers have been set up in the Office of the Directorate of the Department of General Health.
The telephone numbers - 044 24350496, 044 24334811 and 94443 40496.
These telephone numbers will function throughout the 24 hours. The government hospitals will distribute nilavembu drinking water, the juice of papaya leaves and the juice of malaivembu leaves.
It is also advised that the public should not take medicines on their own without medical consultation. It is better to visit the hospitals and get the correct treatment.
