End of monsoon, beginning of winter in Chennai

Weather experts have said that the northeast monsoon has officially ended and that winter has set in in Chennai. Officials at the Meteorological Department have said that there will be pleasant days and cold nights in the coming days. Minimum temperatures will be between 21 and 22 degrees Celsius.
An official said, The minimum temperature on Friday was 23.1C and the maximum 30C. The temperature could drop to 19C this month. We are not expecting any more rain... The southern districts of Tamil Nadu could receive light rain this month. The monsoon season has officially ended and winter will last through February. A weather blogger said, There are remote possibilities of rain around Pongal. There may be light spells of rain in February. By and large, the state has received most of its rainfall this season.
