Rains continues to lash Chennai today

Sporadic rains continued to lash the city and suburbs today which were limping back to normalcy, aided by improved bus, train and communication services. The city recorded 21.2 mm of rain and the suburbs 21.0 mm of rainfall during the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, according to Met authorities here.
Rain or thundershowers have been forecast at many places in Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and at a few places over Kerala and south interior Karnataka for the next 24 hours.
In particular, authorities said that coastal Tamilnadu including Cuddalore are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24-48 hours.
