- Rain or thundershowers have been forecast at many places in Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Lakshadweep and at a few places over Kerala and south interior Karnataka for the next 24 hours.
- After the water has drained out, check to ensure the power has been restored before you enter. Ensure you are wearing footwear and be careful so as to not slip on glass or sharp objects.
- Chennai, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts collectors have announced holiday for Schools & colleges tomorrow Dec 7.
- Vice-Chancellor B. Vanangamudi has mentioned that the examinations scheduled till December 8 for the government law colleges and institutions affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University have been postponed. The dates of postponed exams will be announced later.
- University of Madras has announced that degree certificates damaged or lost in the recent floods in the city would be replaced on request.
- Area in Chennai including Vadapalani, Koyambedu, Arumbakkam, Ekattuthangal, and others are receiving rain showers with heavy blow of wind. There are heavy showers in Ambatur, Tambaram, Vandalur, Madhavaram, Avadi, Thirunindravur and Poonamallee.
- The Army Rescue and Relief teams have been operating in areas which are the worst hit by the floods in Tambaram, Pallikaranai, Kotturpuram, Pallavaram, Velacheri, Mannipakkam, Sidco Nagar, Perungudi and also along areas adjacent to the Adyar River.

- Day time all weather operations for domestic commercial flights from Chennai Airport will commence from today on 6th December, 2015. DGCA will review the situation for night operations.
