Chicken Pox Cases Mounts among Children – Due to Peak Temperature

During this year, the inception of chicken pox cases is pretty early and it mainly targets the children. The mounting temperature reasons the raise in the number of chicken pox cases.

The ‘Varicella-Zoster’, chicken pox virus is highly contagious and severe attacks will prevails mainly between March and May.

Parents should be very careful in dealing their chicken pox affected kids. They should not allow their kids to mingle with other children, as the virus can spread to others very easily, said a senior consultant pediatrician Dr S Balasubramanian of Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital.

Collection of blisters can persist for several days with skin complaints of all stages screening up concurrently.

The incubation period for chicken pox is usually 10-14 days. It is very crucial to take the child to the doctor right away. There are diverse sprains of viruses and if the illness is stern it may cause major hurdles involving the liver and the lungs, he said.

It is advisable that both the pregnant women and people who travel a lot to get vaccinated against these chicken pox virus diseases, he added.
