How many of us are aware of the fact that herbs and spices that are used for cooking have also got many medicinal properties in them and they could be used to treat many health issues in us effectively.

The point here is these herbs and spices have got many antioxidants in them and could play a huge role in curing many ailments. Here are some commonly used herbs and spices in kitchen that have got great medicinal benefits.

Mint:

This is one of the most commonly used ingredient and is used in foods, beverages etc. The cooling anti-inflammatory properties of mint are responsible for this use. Anti-allergic properties of mint leaves are tremendous and they could be used to clear nasal congestion plus help us in providing relief from cough etc. One important point is menthol present in mint helps digestion. Thyme:

Another culinary herb that has got great medicinal value is thyme. It is used as a remedy to treat cough. Issues like sore throats and bronchitis could be treated by thyme intake. Getting rid of molds etc is possible by thyme which is a disinfectant.
