The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a recruitment drive for 2000 vacancies of Probationary Officers (POs), with the application deadline set for September 27. Even final year students and individuals with degrees in Medicine, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy can apply. For OBC and differently-abled candidates, the maximum number of attempts allowed is seven, while applicants from Scheduled categories have no such limit on attempts.

Those selected for the PO position will receive a salary in the scale of Rs 36,000-63,840.
The selection process consists of two stages - a preliminary examination and a main examination. The preliminary exam includes 100 objective-type questions from English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning, with a one-hour time limit. The main examination features objective-type questions for 200 marks and descriptive questions for 50 marks, followed by a group exercise for 20 marks and an interview for 30 marks.
For candidates in Tamil Nadu, the preliminary exam centers include Chennai, Coimbatore, Erode, Madurai, Nagercoil, Salem, Thanjavur, Thiruchirapalli, Tirunelveli, Vellore, and Virudhunagar.
