Getting LLRs or learners license would not be a problem for the students hereafter. The news is state transport department would reach out to the college students all over TN. Point to be noted is the authorities belonging to the RTOs or Regional Transport Offices in TN would visit the students at their doorsteps and would explain the rules that must followed while driving vehicles to create more awareness on the road safety.

Important information is at the end of the sessions LLRs would be issued to the students on the spot and that would be superb. Transport minister, Mr. M.R. Vijayabaskar made the announcement while moving the demand for the grant for the department on Tuesday. The minister threw light on how an estimated amount of Rs 63 lakhs has been sanctioned for buying laptops, printers and data cards for the process. He finally revealed that this was an attempt to reduce driving without licenses.

The minister also spoke about how as many as 2000 electric buses would be procured by the government with German assistance. To the MTC fleet of buses, some of the electric buses would be added. He explained about how the corporation has sought assistance from centre under Fast Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME)-2 Scheme.

Information is electrically operated hydraulic wheelchair lifts would be fitted to the doors of the government buses soon. This would help the differently able passengers to board or to get down easily. It must be noted that common mobility cards for different modes of public transport, CCTV cameras in buses and depots, diagnostic tools to detect repairs were some of the announcements made.

As a part of route rationalisation approach, around 1400 government bus services were stopped. Finally, the transport minister spoke about how every village with atleast 500 people were connected to the nearest hub by buses.
