The popular superstar actor Rajinikanth cast his vote at the Chennai Stella Maris College polling booth.
Today, 18th April, is the 2nd Phase of the parliamentary elections, being conducted in states including Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Tamil Nadu has 39 parliamentary seats and Puducherry, 1. Apart from the assembly by-polls are being conducted for 18 constituencies.
Polling commenced at 7.00 AM. However, people had gathered early morning 6.30 AM itself and had formed a long line
The feverish election campaign which was in progress over the last 2 weeks, concluded day-before-yesterday at 6.00 PM. Subsequently, the other people who are not the votes in the relevant constituency were removed from there.
In this scenario, polling commenced at 7.00 PM today morning (Thursday, 18th April). As the voters enter the polling booth, they are being permitted in gradually. The polling will be nonstop without any lunch break and will conclude at 6.00 PM.
