Fantastic idea from GCC!! - Specialised teachers to train the Chennai students to crack IIT entrance exams etc!!

Studying in a premier educational institute like IIT or Indian Institute of Technology would soon become a dream come true for many students in Chennai!!
The news is that GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation has got plans to set up model schools to equip the students to prepare for competitive exams like IITs etc. Sound`s Incredible right!!
The Nungambakkam based corporation school would be upgraded as a model school by GCC and there would be necessary facilities and labs there to provide training for the students in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths etc.
A total of 160 students from classes 11 and 12 of 80 boys and 80 girls would be identified to be trained for an academic year. This was according to a recent council resolution.
The GCC Commissioner Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi spoke about how the main aim was to push the students into premier educational institutions like IITs etc . He added that special training would be given to the students to crack JEE and NEET etc.
Specialised teachers would be providing training for the students and for that the TN govt has tied up with agencies. In the coming months, there would be change in the results. He highlighted that the attendance of students and teachers would be reviewed and if the attendance is poor then the teacher would be associating with the parents. Not only the main exams would be given importance at the schools but also the spoken English.
For providing training to 160 students by supplying food etc, an amount of Rs 1.8crores would be needed. In the coming months, this superb initiative would be expanded to many other schools in Chennai. As manya s 15 teachers have been identified for the program and the students would need to stay in the hostels to get trained by them.
