Chennai Koyambedu Vegetable Prices Today: Onion, Beans and Carrot Rates See Mild Increase

After the Northeast Monsoon slowed down across Tamil Nadu, there has been no major impact on overall vegetable prices, according to traders. However, business activity remains slightly dull at the Koyambedu Wholesale Vegetable Market over the past few days. Amid this, prices of a few vegetables recorded a mild increase today.

Onion and Carrot Prices Rise

Onion prices increased by ₹2 per kg, with first grade onions selling at ₹30 per kg and second grade at ₹26 per kg. Ooty carrot prices saw a sharp rise of nearly ₹10 per kg, now priced at ₹50 (first grade), ₹45 (second grade) and ₹40 (third grade). Malur carrots continue to remain stable between ₹15 to ₹20 per kg.

Beans Price Jumps by ₹20

The price of beans surged by ₹20 per kg, with first grade beans now priced at ₹75, followed by ₹70 for second grade and ₹65 for third grade.

Tomato and Other Key Vegetables Remain Stable

Tomato prices continue without any change. First grade tomatoes are sold at ₹40 per kg, second grade at ₹35, and third grade at ₹30. Hybrid tomatoes are priced at ₹50 per kg.
Small onions are selling at ₹70, ₹65, and ₹60 per kg across three grades. Karnataka onions remain steady between ₹20 to ₹24 per kg.

Potato, Greens and Other Vegetable Rates

Potato prices stand at ₹40, ₹35 and ₹23 per kg. Karnataka beetroot is available between ₹25 to ₹30, chow chow at ₹10 to ₹15, radish at ₹20 to ₹25, cabbage at ₹10 to ₹15, ladies finger at ₹30 to ₹40, brinjal varieties between ₹10 to ₹20, and bitter gourd at ₹20 to ₹25 per kg.

Snake gourd is sold at ₹25 (first grade) and ₹20 (second grade), bottle gourd at ₹20 to ₹25, elephant yam at ₹30 to ₹40, colocasia at ₹15 to ₹20, cauliflower at ₹25 to ₹35, cucumber at ₹15 to ₹20, and G4 chilli at ₹60 per kg.

Green Chilli, Peas, Ginger and Garlic Prices

Green chilli is priced between ₹30 to ₹35 per kg, peas between ₹80 to ₹90 per kg, ginger at ₹70, ₹65 and ₹60 per kg, and garlic at ₹110, ₹80 and ₹50 per kg based on quality.

Drumstick Price Remains High

Drumstick continues to remain expensive, with first grade priced at ₹250 per kg, second at ₹230, and third grade at ₹150 per kg.
