Revised Motor Vehicles Act to be implemented in Tamil Nadu from today (3rd Sep)

With the main objective of reducing the traffic violations and the innumerable accidents caused thereby, a petition was proposed with the revisions in the Motor Vehicles Act in the parliament and was passed.

Subsequently, the revised Motor Vehicles Act was implemented throughout the country. Henceforth, the penalties for traffic violations will be as per the revised Motor Vehicles Act.

The penalty for traffic rules violations such as not stopping at the signal, driving without wearing seat belt, driving without a licence, drunken driving, etc., have been revised by multiple times as compared to the penalties before 1st September.

As the Tamil Nadu Traffic Department had not received any information, there was some confusion prevailing regarding the implementation of the revised Motor Vehicle Act in the state of Tamil Nadu.

In this scenario, a recent announcement has been released that the revised Motor Vehicles Act would be implemented in the state of Tamil Nadu from 3rd September.
