Negative COVID growth reported from 13 zones out of 15 GCC zones

In Chennai city, in the last few days the number of Coronavirus cases has been coming down. Chennai is now registering negative growth. This has brought some relief now. 

The overall growth rate of new Coronavirus cases for the last 7 days in Chennai was at minus 2.4%.Negative growth rate has been reported from 13 GCC zones out of total 15 zones now. Zones like Alandur and Anna Nagar are exceptions now and these zones registered a positive growth rate of 0.1pecrent that is almost zero growth rates.

The average growth rate in Chennai for one week till 3rd October was 2.7percent and 12 out of 15 zones showed positive growth rate. This has been because of a sudden increase in the number of cases and in that time Chennai was witnessing more than 1000 fresh cases every day. As per an official belonging to GCC it was clear that the number of new Coronavirus cases is coming down.

Yesterday, 19th October, Chennai had just 889 fresh cases. It is important to note that Royapuram zone registered a minus 4.7$ growth rate and this zone was one of the worst affected zones of GCC in the initial days of the pandemic. It must be noted that Manali zone registered minus 4.5percent and Valasaravakkam minus 4.2 percent growth rate. Minus 4.1% growth rate was witnessed in Perungudi and Teynampet.

Zones like Tondiarpet and Thiru Vi- Ka Nagar registered minus 3.8 % and minus 2.9% respectively. Information is that zones like Ambattur, Madhavaram and Sholinganallur registered less than minus 2 percent and Kodambakkam and Tiruvottriyur registered less than minus 1% growth rates. 

In the south, the Adyar zone registered minus 0.7% growth rate. There are just 4 active cases in Tondiarpet and Royapuram zones now and the number of active cases has come down below 5. Just 670 and 708 persons are undergoing treatment from Tondiarpet and Royapuram zones respectively.

It is now mentioned that overall more than 1.73lakhs have recovered from this Coronavirus infection ever since the outbreak and this corresponded to 92% recovery rate. As many as 3520 have passed away due to the Coronavirus infection spread and currently 12583 are undergoing treatment in Chennai.
