The Weight of the domestic LPG cooking gas cylinder is to be reduced!

The Central Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, has informed that the central government has decided to reduce the weight of the domestic LPG cooking gas cylinder.

Given due consideration for the hardships faced while transporting the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cooking gas cylinder, the central government has been recommending various measures to reduce the weight of this domestic LPG cooking gas cylinder.

If the cylinder weight is less, women can also handle it without much difficulty. As such, for this facility for women, the central government is planning to reduce the weight of the domestic LPG Cooking Gas Cylinder. The price is also expected to come down accordingly.

A recent accident last week may be recalled when one of the people distributing the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cooking gas cylinder tripped and fell with the cylinder falling on him leading to his death! This tragic incident also has led to the central government’s decision to reduce the weight of the domestic LPG Cooking Gas Cylinder.

One of the Rajya Sabha members had raised the issue of the hardships encountered by women while handling the LPG cooking gas cylinders of larger weight.

The Central Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, while answering this question, informed that the central government is reviewing the measure to reduce the weight of the domestic LPG Cooking Gas Cylinder to facilitate women to handle it easily.

Information is gathered that a review is being conducted on a proposal to reduce the weight of the domestic LPG Cooking Gas Cylinder from14.5 kg to 5 kg.
