The low-pressure zone formed over the Bay of Bengal, Mocha to intensify into a cyclone!

A depression zone prevailing over the southeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic form on Wednesday, May 10th. The cyclone has been named `Mocha` and is expected to drift towards the north and northeast while intensifying further into a severe cyclone on Thursday, May 11th.
The low-pressure zone formed over the Bay of Bengal on May 8th has drifted towards the southeast Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, where it currently prevails as a depression zone that has intensified and drifted towards the northwest.
As of Wednesday evening, May 10th, it was located 530 km from Port Blair Andaman as a strong depression zone. Subsequently, it drifted towards the north and northeast and transformed into a cyclone on Wednesday night.
The cyclone, recommended to be named `Mocha` by Yemen, continued to drift further towards the north-northeast and intensified into a severe cyclone on Thursday, May 11th, before intensifying further during midnight. It may prevail over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjacent central Bay of Bengal.
It is expected to continue drifting towards the north-northeast and then towards the east, weakening on May 13th, and crossing the coast on May 14th at the southeast Bangladesh and the North Myanmar coast. During this period, high-speed winds at 110-120 kmph may occur intermittently, with some winds reaching up to 130 kmph.
Please note that there is no prospect for rain in Tamil Nadu due to Cyclone Mocha. However, there are prospects for mild to moderate rain today (May 11th) in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in one or two places.
At the same time, the intensity of heat will increase in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The temperature is expected to be higher by 2-3 degrees Fahrenheit compared to normal, as per the information provided by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre.
Fishermen are warned that severe high-speed cyclonic winds may blow across the Andaman Sea area, Southeast Bay of Bengal area, southwest, central east, central west, and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Therefore, fishermen in these areas are advised not to venture into the sea for fishing.
