The low-pressure format intensifies into a strong depression zone!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the low-pressure format which was prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the south Bay of Bengal has intensified and transformed into a strong depression zone!
This depression format is likely to drift towards the Sri Lankan Coast in the next 24 hours!
As such, there are prospects for rain with lightning and thunder for 5 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. As regards tomorrow (Thursday, 22nd December), there are prospects for mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.
As regards Friday (23rd December), and Saturday (24th December), there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.
As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain in some parts of the city!
