Low-pressure zone in the Bay of Bengal: Prospects for heavy rain in 5 districts!

There is a cyclonic format prevailing over the Andhra coastal area and the adjacent Bay of Bengal. This may intensify into a depression zone in the next 24 hours.

Due to this, there are prospects for mild rain with lightning and thunder in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

Further, there are prospects for heavy rain in the 5 districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, and Dindigul.

As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places in the city. The maximum temperature will be 35 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature

As regards the maximum rainfall recorded in the last 24 hours in cm: Chinnakkallar-9, Avalanche - 8, Valparai, Pandhalur - 7 each.

For fishermen:

High-speed winds are likely to blow across at 40-50 kmph in Mannar Bay, and the adjacent South Tamil Nadu coastal area.

Cyclonic winds at 45-60 kmph in the Andhra coastal area and the central-west Bay of Bengal.

Fishermen are warned NOT to venture into the sea in the above areas!
