Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre: Prospects for rains next 5 days in Tamil Nadu!!

In a notification recently released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned that there are prospects for heavy rain in the next 5 days in different places in Tamil Nadu.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that the prospects for rain are due to the formation of a cyclonic format in the lower layers of the atmosphere over Tamil Nadu! As such, there a retrospect`s for heavy rains from today (Saturday, 30th July) for 5 days!

Date-wise weather forecast as per the above notification:

30th July: There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for heavy rain in 1 or 2 places in Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, and Karur districts.

 31st July: There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain. Lightning and thunder

There are prospects for heavy to very heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Kallakurichi, Salem, Namakkal, Perambalur, and Trichy. There are prospects for heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the directs of Krishnagiri, Tirupathur, Dharmapuri, Erode, Karur, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Thiruvarur, Pudhukkottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Tirupur, and Dindigul.

1st August: There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for heavy to very heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Thiruvallur, Ranippettai, Vellore, Tirupathur, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, and Thanjavur.

There are prospects for heavy rain in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Perambalur, Trichy, Pudhukkottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Nagappattinam, Thiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, and Dindigul.

2nd August: There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for heavy TO VERY HEAVY RAINS IN 1 OR 2 PLACES IN THE DISTRICTS OF Thiruvallur, Ranippettai, Vellore, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Tirupathur, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli, and Kanyakumari.

There are prospects for heavy rain in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Chennai, Krishnagiri, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Dharmapuri, Erode, Nilgiri, C Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, and Puducherry.

3rd August: There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for heavy to very heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli and Kanyakumari.

There are prospects for heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Madurai, Erode, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Thirupathur, Vellore, Ranippettai, and Thiruvallur.

As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 24 hours. There are prospects for mild rain with lightning and thunder in a few parts of the city. The maximum temperature will be 35-36 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 27-28 Degree Celsius.

The sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain in some parts of the city. A maximum temperature of 33-36 Degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 27-28 Degree Celsius will be corded.

Periyakulam (Theni)_ - 5, Vaigai Dam (Theni) – 9, Chinnakallar (Coimbatore), Danishpettai (Salem) – 3 each, Mettur (Salem), Dharmapuri PTO, Malaiyur (Pudhukkottai, Hosur (Krishnagiri) - 2 each, Alangudi (Pudhukkottai), Coimbatore South, Omalur (Salem), Palakkodu (Dharmapuri), Cinchona (Coimbatore), Vaalpaarai PTO (Coimbatore) – 1 each.

Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has also issued warnings to the fishermen date-wise as under:

30th July:
In the sections of the Southwest Bay of Bengal adjacent to Sri Lankas, high-speed winds may blow at 40 to 50 kmph

31st July: 
In the central arts of the South Bay of Bengal, high-speed winds may blow at 40 to 50 kmph.

31st July to 3rd August: 
Cyclonic winds at very high speeds of 40 to 50 kmph may blow across the Southeast Arabian Sea Kerala and Karnataka Coastal Areas and Lakhdivs!

1st August to 3rd August: 
High-speed winds may blow at 40 to 50 kmph in the Bay of Mannar, Kanyakumari Ocean Parts, the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, and the adjacent southwest Bay of Bengal!

2nd August: 
High-speed winds may blow at 40 to 50 kmph in the southwest Bay of Bengal sections.

As such, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has warned the fishermen NOT to venture into the sea in the relevant areas as per the above date-wise chart
