New low-pressure zone to form Prospects for rain again in Tamil Nadu!

Fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea for 4 days from tomorrow (Friday, 17th December) until 19th December.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that a new low-pressure zone is likely to be formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent central-west Bay of Bengal tomorrow (Friday, 17th December).

There are prospects for medium rain in the delta districts, Karaikkal, and Pudhukkottai due to the northeast Monsoon rainy seasonal winds.

As regards the other districts, a dry climate will prevail mostly and there are prospects for mild rain in 1 or 2 places.

There are prospects for mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places from today (Thursday, 16th December) until 19th December in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.

Fishermen have been warned and alerted to take caution for 4 days in the Kanyakumari Ocean Zone and the South Sri Lanka zone.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain partly cloudy.

There are prospects for a new low-pressure zone to be formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent equatorial areas. As such, fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea in the region of the southwest Bay of Bengal.
