On Thursday, IMD mentioned that a fresh low pressure is likely to be formed over the south Andaman Sea around 29th November.

It is worthy to note that the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal that was supposed to become a low pressure might not intensify. The agency pointed out that the new system is likely to become more marked and move west north-westwards in the subsequent 48 hours.

The director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Mr. N. Puviarasan highlighted that the low pressure did not form because the pressure gradient force was not favourable for the wind speeds to pick up. He hinted that Coriolis force that would make the winds rotate or circle was also weak. The speed of rotating winds has been blocked by the landmass of Sri Lanka.

Some places in Chennai and its suburbs might receive heavy rains with thunderstorms in the next 48 hours. Chennai would have a maximum temperature around 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius.

Today, there would be heavy rainfall in Chennai and its neighbourhoods like Kancheepuram , Chengalpet and Tiruvallur etc and this was as per the IMD. Various isolated places in Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi would get heavy to very heavy rains today.

On Saturday, there are chances of heavy to very heavy rains in the districts of Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur etc and Chennai might get heavy rainfall.

Isolated places belonging to Ramipet, Tiruvallur and The Nilgiris districts would get heavy to very heavy rains on this coming Sunday.
