Warning for very very heavy rains! Schools/colleges closed tomorrow in several districts including Chennai!

The Northeast monsoon rainy season has intensified in Tamil Nadu.
A low-pressure zone that formed over the Bay of Bengal on 13th November has been drifting slowly. Presently, this low-pressure zone has drifted towards the west and over the central-west and the southwest Bay of Bengal! It will reach near South Andhra and North Tamil Nadu coastal areas tomorrow (Thursday, 18th November).
Another low-pressure zone is prevailing over the Central-East Arabian Sea.
Due to both above movements of the low-pressure zones, it has rained quite heavily in Tamil Nadu!
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that as a continuation of the above low-pressure zones and their drifts, there are prospects for widespread rain in Tamil Nadu from today (Wednesday, 17th November) for 4 days!
Subsequently, a ‘Red Alert’ warning has been issued to the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Ranippettai.
With the warnings given for very heavy rain, a holiday has been declared for all schools and colleges in the districts of Chennai, Ranippettai, and Thiruvallur! In Kanchipuram, a holiday has been declared only for the schools.
