Deep depression to be formed - Heavy rains predicted

The RMC or Regional Meteorological Centre on Monday has informed that the low pressure formed over Sri Lanka is likely to move towards north-north westwards and then it would turn into deep depression in the next 2 days. Ten districts belonging to Tamil Nadu would receive heavy rains and thunderstorms for the next 2 days.
According to Mr. N. Puviarasan, director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, RMC, Chennai, yesterday’s low pressure area over Sri Lanka of TN Coast is now present over Comorin area adjoining north Sri Lanka Coast. He added that the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.1km above the mean sea level. He hinted that in the next 48 hours, it is likely to emerge into the south east Arabian Sea. Later, it would move north north westwards and become more marked in the subsequent 48 hours of time.
For the next 2 days, 10 districts such as Cuddalore, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Madurai, Tenkasi and Delta districts like Ariyalur, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Trichy, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur would receive heavy rains with thunderstorms.
Parts belonging to Chennai have been receiving rains from the Sunday evening itself and rains would be there for the next 48 hours in Chennai. This was predicted by the weather department.
Chennai would have a maximum temperature around 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius. Till Friday, the fishermen have been warned against venturing into the sea due the cyclonic wind speeds of 40 kmph to 50 kmph in the coastal places belonging to Kerala, Lakshadweep, Maldives and south eastern Arabian Sea.
