Thunderstorms with light to moderate rains in most parts in TN till weekend!!

There would be widespread rainfall due to the presence of cyclonic circulation over south-west Bay of Bengal. It is now said that till this weekend most parts belonging to Tamil Nadu would receive thunderstorms with light to moderate rains. On Wednesday, some parts in TN might also receive isolated heavy rains and this could be due to cyclonic circulation over south-west Bay of Bengal and in the neighbourhood. Residents were surprised to witness heavy rains in Chennai on Tuesday and several parts belonging to Chennai received rains. By evening, rain gauges in some places in Chennai recorded moderate to heavy rainfall.
By 5:30 pm in the evening, west Tambaram received 9cm of rain and Taramani received 6cm. The day temperature reduced to 28.3degrees Celsius due to intermittent rains and overcast sky in Chennai. It must be noted that this was 4 degrees less than the average for Tuesday.
Till 5:30pm in the evening, Nungambakkam recorded less than 1cm of rain and Meenambakkam recorded 3cm of rain. There were rains in Valparai and Cuddalore by evening. On Wednesday, there might be isolated heavy rains in districts like Theni, Krishnagiri, Salem etc and this was according to the officials belonging to the meteorological department. Till Friday, most other places in TN and Puducherry would receive light to moderate rains.
There might be slight reduction in the intensity of the rains on Thursday and Friday but rains might become heavy in one or two places over Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram district by Saturday. Northern districts might get moderate rains.
