It rained throughout the night (21st September night) in Chennai Metro City and its suburban areas.
It rained throughout the night especially in the city areas including Egmore, Chennai Central, Guindy, T Nagar, Velacherry, Adyar, Anna Nagar, Nungambakkam, K K Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Vaasarawakam, Mylapore, Palavakkam, Royappettai, Chrompet, and also the suburban localities around Chennai Metro City.
The rain has continued in the morning in some areas in Chennai Metro City.
As per the notification released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre yesterday (Tuesday, 21st September), there are prospects for heavy rains with lightning and thunder from today (Wednesday, 22nd September) in some districts due to the development of a cyclonic format in the upper layers of the atomsphere and also due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
As regards the Chennai Metro City, there are prospects for mild to medium rain in the nights in the next 48 hours.
