Depression zone over the southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the depression zone, formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal expected to cause heavy rains in southern districts, has weakened. As the low-pressure zone has weakened and presently located over the Kanyakumari sea and the adjacent areas, So, there are prospects of heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the southern Tamil Nadu and the coastal districts and mild to medium rain in a few places in a few places.

The fishermen are warned not to venture into the Kanyakumari Sea zone and the Central Indian Sea. Meanwhile, there are prospects of a new low-pressure zone over the Andaman area and so, the fishermen are warned not to venture into the southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman areas.

It is also forecast that there are prospects of mild rain in the Chennai Metro City.
