Many people in Tamil Nadu to get benefited by PMJAY scheme

Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme or CHIS of the chief minister is receiving good response in TN is well known. It is now said that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or PMJAY scheme launched recently by the centre was sensational and was a shot in the arm for the patients. By this scheme the patients would be able to get treatment anywhere in India. The superb piece of information is the increased health coverage from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh would be tremendous as it could save many ailing patients from many treatments. This was later confirmed by the officials belonging to Tamil Nadu Health System Project or TNHSP.

The people are not able to differentiate between the CMCHIS and PMJAY schemes. There is not much difference between the 2 above mentioned schemes. The importance that is given to two factors is the cost of treatment per year and the number of hospitals.

Kauvery hospital in Chennai is highly popular and Dr. Sivaram Kannan is a consultant physician of this hospital. He spoke his heart out and said PMJAY is fantastic and highly beneficial for many patients. Under this scheme the patients would be able to get treatment anywhere in India. He spoke about how this scheme would be superb for those who are out of state for getting treatment.

He later spoke about how more number of hospitals would opt for this scheme if the government considered allotting reasonable payment for the treatments. He hinted that patients could approach the eligible hospitals for getting treatment.  According to project director, TNHSP, P. Uma Maheswari, Tamil Nadu is the hub for medical tourism. She later explained how PMJAY would pave the way for common people to take treatment totally free of cost. She added that the funds for the scheme would be shared by centre as well as by the state in the ratio of 60:40.By this PMJAY, a total of 77lakhs poor and vulnerable families would get benefited. She finally spoke about how the families would be selected by SECC or socio economic caste census. It is worthy to note that national health agency or NHA is the apex body that would implement this PMJAY scheme.
