BBC and Accuweather Forecast - Nothing to worry - Tamilnaduweatherman FB update

I am getting lot of messages about BBC forecast. What is BBC forecast. They follow UKMET numercial weather model. After GFS and ECMWF this is the 3rd ranked model in world. The output of this UKMET Global model runs every 12 hours. In one run, you will see rains and next run rains will not be there. One run they will show heavy rains and the next runs it will be light rains.

What does BBC shows now for Chennai - see for yourself

You can all see now BBC shows only light rains on wednesday.http://www.bbc.com/weather/1264527  So why should we jump into conclusion. I want to see what that BBC expert will put now in its twitter page. They have unnecessarily put that twitter warning. These are inexperienced guys sitting happily in London and issuing these alerts without understanding our local weather and the mindset our people are in after the life changing floods.

Coming to Accuweather, their reasoning are correct, but it is not chennai specific. Here you can see they hardly predict moderate rains - http://www.accuweather.com//in/chennai/206671/month/206671 of 17 mm rains Their graphics are nice but is it threatening rains ? No.

What is in store for Chennai

There is lot of dry air around and there is no upper level support. There will some moderate rains on wednesday / thursday. These rains willl not do anything. If there is any change in forecast i will update you. We have seen the worst. Lets all carry on with our work and get least worried about BBC or Accuweather. Will put next update at night. Our media people should be resposible, immediately they put up these BBC warnings in the website / paper / TV and scare innocent people.
