Rains to increase steadily in the coastal districts from today

The cyclonic circulation is presently marked in southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely to intensify into low pressure anytime now, which will increase the rain activity. On Saturday, we can expect light to moderate showers over Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai. There have been rains in some parts of the Tamil Nadu during the last 24 hours. The maximum rainfalls recorded in centimetres are at Kelambakkam (Kancheepuram Dist) 4 and Kodavasal (Tiruvarur Dist) 3.
