Weather forecast: rains to persist for 4 days more in Tamil Nadu!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that it will rain persistently for four days from today (Tuesday, 21st March) in one or two places in Tamil Nadu.

In a notification released by the Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, Pa. Senthamaraikkannan, it is mentioned that there is a convergence of westerly and easterly winds in a section of the upper atmosphere over South India, which may result in mild to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and thunder in one or two places in Tamil Nadu and Karaikkal on the 21st and 24th of March, and on the coastal and adjacent districts on the 22nd and 23rd of March.

Regarding the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, the sky is expected to remain somewhat cloudy for the next 48 hours.

Regarding rainfall in the past 24 hours at 8.30 AM on 20th March (Monday), Cuddalore Pelanthurai recorded 9 cm, while Cuddalore Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram, and Thozhudhur recorded 8 cm each. Vembur recorded 7 cm, while Keezhacheruvai, Thanjavur District Kallanai, Chengalpattu District Hindusthan University, Perambalur District Agaram, Seekur, and Ramanathapuram District Thondi recorded 6 cm.
