Announcement by TN Chief Minister: Loans taken by farmers from Cooperative Banks waived up to 6 Sovereigns!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy has announced that the loans taken by farmers from the Cooperative Banks will be waived up to a maximum of 6 sovereigns.
In his address to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly under Legislative ACT 110, in this regard, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu further mentioned that over 16 lakhs of farmers will be benefited to avail this.
All the Members of the Legislative Assembly MLAs) were delighted to receive this news.
The farmers have been encountering severe hardships over the last few months on various issues such as dry season, failed monsoon rains, flooding, etc.
As regards the last 1 year, the lifelines of the farmers were hugely affected by the raging coronavirus pandemic!
Further, the damages caused by cyclones such as Nivarand the failed monsoon seasonal rains (untimely rains), caused extreme hardships for the farmers.
Given the above serious situation, the news that the loans taken by farmers being waived was a huge relief and has given the farmers extreme delight and enthusiasm!
The Presidents of the various Farmers’ Associations have welcomed the above announcement by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister!
