Teachers and the students surprised by the sudden all pass announcement in TN

Posted on: 26/Feb/2021 9:23:41 AM
The chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami made many heads turn when he announced that the students belonging to the classes 9, 10 and 11 would be promoted to the higher classes without any examination. Now, this decision of the CM has taken the teacher`s community and the students by surprise.

It must be recalled that just a week back the school education minister Mr. K. A. Sengottaiyan had said that class 10 board exam dates would be announced soon. Information collected is that in all the schools nominal rolls of students writing class 10, 11 and 12 board examinations were prepared.

Just about a month back, the schools have reopened in TN and this sudden announcement from the CM of TN would surely affect the learning and seriousness of the students towards academics.

As per Mr. K.R. Nandhakumar, general secretary of TN Matriculation, Higher secondary and CBSE Schools Association, the decision was not necessary. He added that soon the education department officers would be met for conducting school level model examinations for these students. Point is that those students who want to move to polytechnic after a class 10 marks certificate are very important.  This was as per Mr. Patric Raymond secretary, TN PG Teachers Federation.
